The word Ayurveda means “the science of life” and has been a part of the culture in Nepal for approximately 5 000 years. Ayurveda is an alternative and natural form of medicine in Nepal, and over the years many schools and health facilities have opened across the country. Visitors are urged to explore this unique form of medicine in Nepal and take the opportunity to experience Ayurveda as part of the country’s culture.
One of our specialties is a 4 week or 2 week intensive ayurvedic Panchakarma retreat for cleansing, healing and rejuvenating the body, mind and emotions. We also offer shorter ayurvedic retreats, where you can experience the relaxing and preventive effects of ayurveda. These retreats can be easily combined with our personalized Nepal trips, where you first explore the country and it’s culture, and then enjoy the ayurvedic treatments of your choice. We offer these retreats at three different destinations: in the lively city of Kathmandu, in Pokhara at the foothills of the Himalaya, and in the scenic Begnas lake.
During these holistic ayurvedic retreats you will have a daily consultation with an ayurvedic practitioner, undergo individualized herbal treatments, massages with herbalized oils, and have your body and mind restored with rejuvenating products. This will strengthen your immune system and your overall health. The treatments will also balance your mind and emotions. The team of ayurvedic doctors, practitioners and therapists will provide you with a loving, nourishing and healing environment, where you will be able to really let go. You will feel the effects for weeks after your stay.
